I'm Ms. Jen.

I'm an artist, designer, and educator in Oakland. And I believe that art is a lot more than just pretty pictures. Art has the power to connect, heal, and inspire. I created Corner House Studio to bring that joy to as many people as possible

As you may (or may not!) know, I’ve been on an incredible creative journey the last few years. In 2022 I put my decades long design career on the back burner and took a teaching gig at a really great art school in Walnut Creek. I’ve always been an artist, but this year I fell in love with sharing, teaching, and facilitating art with others. Now I'm taking this passion to the next level by creating a space where young artists can explore their creativity, learn some new skills, and have a blast while doing it.

Oh, and just so you know, I've got a fancy B.F.A. degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Those years of formal art training gave me a foundation that still shapes my creative process. It's like a secret toolkit that lets me fearlessly explore all different kinds of mediums and techniques.
