Policies & FAQ
These policies are designed to create a positive, creative, and safe environment for all our young artists. We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to a fun and inspiring art experience!
Timely Arrival / Drop Off
Our classes begin promptly, with the first 10–15 minutes dedicated to introducing the day’s lesson and materials. Arriving on time ensures your child receives all the guidance they need to dive into a fun and successful art experience.
Note we can not accommodate early drop-off. If you arrive a few minutes early, you may wait with your child in our cozy lobby until class begins. All classes at Corner House Studio are drop-off only. We support independence—even for our youngest artists—and kindly request that parents and caregivers remain outside the studio work areas once class starts.
Late Pick-Up Fees
Sometimes things happen that delay your arrival and we understand. However, if your child is picked up more than 10 minutes after class or camp ends, a late fee of $10 per 5-minute increment will be charged. This fee supports the staff who remain on-site to supervise.
Readiness Requirements
To ensure a positive experience for all, we require that our youngest artists meet two key readiness criteria:
Drawing Development: Children should be past the scribbling stage and beginning to create intentional shapes and forms.
Level of Independence: Artists must be comfortable participating in class without a parent present.
If we determine a child is not quite ready for the program, we may remove them from the series and offer a refund for any remaining classes. We always encourage families to try again in 6–12 months when their child may be better prepared.
Missed Classes
Due to the popularity and limited size of our classes, we are unable to offer make-up sessions. If your child misses a class, we’ll do our best to help them catch up the following week. In some cases, an alternative project may be offered. Please note that we do not issue refunds for missed classes.
Health & Safety
If your child is not feeling well, please keep them home to rest and recover. This helps protect the health of our entire studio community. If a child is dropped off and showing signs of illness (ex. coughing, fever, sneezing) we may keep the artists out of class and request an early pick up.
Dress for the Mess
We encourage creative freedom—which often means getting a little messy! While we provide smocks, we recommend dressing your child in clothes that can handle paint, glue, and other materials.
Behavior Expectations
We strive to create a safe, kind, and inclusive environment where all artists can thrive. Artists are expected to:
Participate actively and safely
Respect others, teachers, materials, and space
Keep hands and bodies to themselves
Follow teacher directions
Use kind language and actions
If a child’s behavior disrupts the experience for others, we will communicate with families to offer support. Repeated disruptive behavior may result in removal from the program. Any behavior that poses a risk to others (such as hitting, pushing, or making threats) may result in immediate dismissal.
Registration Cancellation
We offer a full refund for class cancellations made at least 14 days before the start date of the series. Cancellations made less than two weeks prior are not eligible for a refund.
Canceled Sessions
In the unlikely event that Corner House Studio cancels a class due to illness, low enrollment, or unforeseen issues, we will offer either a make-up session or offer a refund for the missed class.
Media Release
By registering for any of our programs, you grant Corner House Studio permission to use photos or videos taken during class for marketing and promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be included, please let us know at the time of registration.
